In the story, Don Quixote
ReplyDeletede la Mancha is an obsess fan
of chivalry and everything related to it,
So, he began his journey to be a hero and to show chivalry as well.
To sum it up, he lost his insanity and people began to take advantage of it.
They make him believe things that are impossible. he started hallucinating things
and believes that it truly exists. but, while everyone's judging him, his peasant,Sancho, stays by his side.
He becomes not only his squire but also his true friend and his protector in some manner.
It reveals the true essence of friendship, that no matter what happens, no matter how worse everyone judge you, there will always be at least a single person who will be willing to stay by your side no matter what.
In some instances, yes, there are some Don Quixote in our environment. We can say that they are the individuals that no one understands. They are the most unique yet the most judged, same as Don Quixote.I consider them the modern Don Quixote because their situation just needs to be understood by ignorant people who treated them differently.
And as for Lord Randall, he trust his lover too much. This Ballad, proves that "Too much Love can kill you" literally. He loves her too much that he trusted her deeply. And, what happened next? HE DIED. To all teenagers out there(I am included XD), learn who to trust. Trust your love ones, but not too deep. Because remember, what makes you alive, kills you, if not physically, mentally.
Good evening Ma’am :)
ReplyDeleteFor the first question, Don Quixote is indeed a masterpiece. Many values are showed in the whole journey. One example is about Don Quixote’s unbeatable spirit in achieving his dreams. He wanted to undo the wrong deed so he sets for a journey. One should not give up easily in making their dreams a reality. But one should also know his/her limitations. Don Quixote became obsessed with the chivalry books that results to a negative effect. Another value is the friendship of Quixote and Sancho. Even though Quixote became some sort of crazy man, still Sancho stayed in his side.
For the second question, my answer is yes. There are still persons like Quixote that exists in our world. Some examples are the scientists who do everything in order to prove their theories. Because of their different mentality from normal people, they are judged negatively just like Quixote. I consider them as modern’s Don Quixote because of the same characteristics and traits.
For the third question, which is about Lord Randall, it teaches us to appreciate everything around us. Small or big, we should be thankful for what we have. It also teaches us to be careful in choosing people whom we trust because we might end up just like what happen to Lord Randall in the folk song.
Thank you and God bless Ma'am :)
Don Quixote de la Mancha is considered to be a parody of chivalric romances. It is a very unique literary piece and self-referential work that involves the reader in viewing the literature itself. Insanity is one of the truths about this story. Insanity today is acting in such a way that would cause you to no longer be accepted in society. When you become dangerous to yourself and others, you are either insane or well on your way to become insane. Just like in the story, he chooses a lady named Aldonza Lorenzo which gives her the title of Dulcinea del Toboso and he convince a shrewd peasant farmer, Sancho Panza to become his squire. So insane, right? It’s not only about insanity although love is sometimes noted in the novel, Don Quixote’s affection to Dulcinea mimic romantic ideals, which in this case he never ever been seen before this girl.
ReplyDeleteAll of us like to feel that we are in some way unique individuals. The way we dress, the way we talk, the way we act and the things we do help us define our uniqueness. Yes, we can say that there are some of us that are similar to Don Quixote. These are the one who isolated themselves from the society yet they have great and unique way of thinking which few can understand . I can consider them as a modern Don Quixote because same as him, I can see in our environment in which there are a lot of people that has these massive potentials. Perhaps, they just don’t want to be seen by the crowd.
I still believe in a saying “Too much of everything is bad”. A shoe troubles if it is too loose or too tight but it gives comfort if it is of the right size. So is the case with all the people especially teenager who love someone too much. Sometimes, we love people so much, that we have to be numb to it, because if we actually felt how much we really love them, it would kill us. METAPHORICALLY AND LITERALLY!!!
Don’t forget to love yourself….
HAVE YOU EVER DREAMED ABOUT DOING SOMETHING AND THOUGHT THAT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO?
ReplyDeleteSome people said that every great dream begins with a dreamer. I know a person who dreamed of something impossible but for him he will do anything to achieve this. Don Quixote Dela Mancha is one of the greatest literary works of Miguel De Cervantes. In this literary piece, it showed the great adventure of the protagonist along with his faithful squire named “Sancho”. Don Quixote is known to be obsessed with chivalrous ideals. Because of this, he lost his sanity. Don Quixote started to imagine some things that were quite impossible. But because he was a man who would never give up just to prove himself, he explored everything and started to believe in those things. In our life, it depends on us on how the way we chose to see the world because perception is everything. Like Don Quixote, he chose to see himself as the knight who would right all the wrongs. Our life is simple. If we live this in the way we want and if we look in the positive outlook, we could achieve all the dreams that we want and we will became successful in life.
I think that there are Don Quixote’s in our society. These people are the one who were different in their own way. They were living their life in a different way just like Don Quixote. I consider them the modern Don Quixote because our life is different now from before. In today’s world, we are technology-oriented so we have a lot of possibilities to discover more things. More people became curious of something like Don Quixote did. We all know that every people are unique in their own way. Some are different that’s why some of them are being judged by others. But despite of these differences, we are equally created by our own God.
Lord Randall is known to be a folk ballad. This is all about a teenager whose love ends with sadness because he trust his true love so much that he ended in pain. This ballad portrays a message that to trust someone is very important. Because trust is earned, respect is given and loyalty is demonstrated. In this ballad, betrayal happened. Simply, betrayal of any one is to lose the trust. Today, we should be cautious of whom we going to give our trust because we might never know we can also end in pain just like what happened to Lord Randall.

ReplyDeleteDon Quixote trough this literary piece i realized something, something that only ourselves can see. Every child is special I am now a believer of this quote. Don Quixote for other people, well he is just a insane man trying to be cool, trying to be something that isn't real but when we think deeper is it true that even a man like him wants chivalry to reborn again. How about us ? Are we just gonna sit down and just laugh to him. I realized that this insane man has something with himself telling that there's more his agenda is something important.
ReplyDeleteFor me all of us are Don Quixote. We believe what we see. I consider the politicians to be Don Quixote they keep on doing things for the people so they can get their attentions. It hurts that some people judge quickly they forget all the good things that this person did and just remember all his/her mistakes. Being judged hurts a lot but why are we doing this? Is there something we can do, well it depends upon us if we judge a people for good or for us to know we are better than them.
"Love hurts, love scars, love wounds, and marks any heart." Well it's just a part of a song for many people. But this song have a meaning, when we love someone we start to feel a pain, a pain that can easily destroy us. But what if the one you love was the on who destroyed you. For Lord Randall he was betrayed by the one he loves and when we betrayed we easily give up there's nothing more painful than being betrayed especially by your loved ones. So don't be too cheesy, don't push yourself too much be happy to love and beloved. There was a part in Lord Randall that states about family, well a family will never leave you, they will be there forever. So for me Love yourself, love your family, and wait for the one who will love you back as you love him/her.
THANKSS
1.) It tells about what people believe or desires to be true specially in their dreams that many things could be made possible. It also tells us that not all we believe or dream of can be true in real life because sometimes in could lead us to a negative effect that could change our life.
ReplyDelete2.) Yes, because many of us likes to read books, novels and etc. Because of that many of us believe in fairy tales or has an imagination about some unrealistic things that lead us to also believe that this things could be made possible in reality. I also consider them as the modern world's Don Quixote because many of the people like him end up in a very tragic or negative outcomes because of what they believe to be true.
3.) It conveys that not all true loves can result into a happy ending. It just tells that we shouldn't give our full trust to other people specially when we don't know their personalities, just like Lord Randall. He gave his full trust to a women whom he doesn't know very well and just fall in love with her so easily. Because of that, he didn't know that he had been betrayed by her and she also poisoned him.
The story Don Quixote dela Mancha proved that you will be judge if you don't fit in. As we all know people with abnormalities or differences from normal people are being judge quickly by most of us. Another thing is that he did pursue his dream to revive chivalry but only caused him to be insane. We can still see it today that people work hard for them to achieve their goals in life but of course they are not insane as Don Quixote. Lastly, the story reveals that true friends are always by your side even you do stupid things. They'll either correct you or company you to do those things.
ReplyDeleteAs i have observed there are only few people who have the guts to stand up and fight for what they believe. Some of us has our own perspective in life that we want others to understand but then maybe those who wanted to fight for something hasn't got the will to make a move.
In the song Lord Randall, Lord Randall had trusted his lover so much that he had been poisoned. For me it's Lord Randall's fault to trust his lover too much, he must truly know her first before he trusted the said lover. So don't fully give your trust to anyone around you. He or she may hurt you in a lot of ways.
Don Quixote is indeed a masterpiece since it presents themes that are considered as universal truths. Universal truths such as the ingenuity of human imagination and the harsh reality of life. How long have we daydreamed, wishing for something other than the life we're having? That's also the same for the protagonist in the story, Don Quixote. He also craved for something other than his routine, so he got unhealthily obsessed with tales of chivalry and reenacted them, adding a dash of excitement in his life.
ReplyDeleteIn a way, we are all Don Quixotes, wishing for something other than what life has to offer. We all get this sudden urge to go on a trip spontaneously, forgetting the reality that is our lives.
Another one of the studied pieces is Lord Randall. I think the message being conveyed to someone like me is the subtle rebellion in the song and the search for love in the wrong places. My answer may sound like what something a real teenager might say, but I guess it's the truth.
1.) Don Quixote was the most brilliant man ever! Yes, the man who called a windmill a giant and a tavern prostitute a chase maiden and meant it.
ReplyDeletePerception is everything. The way we choose to see the world is how it shall be. Don Quixote chose to see himself as a knight, the "righter of wrongs" who would "fight the good fight." Though very old, he took bumps and bruises with the best of them. You may be asking how he accomplished this; because he just believed he could!
2.) I'm considering myself as one of the Don Quixote of the society . These are our scientist and students like us . These group of people have different perspective on everything and does look on angle of the story or study . All I'm saying is, if you haven't seen any giants today, you might want to change your perspective.
3.) Lord Randall is is a Scottish folk ballad. It was known and sung by many in the Scottish countryside. Though it was later written down, 'Lord Randall' was originally memorized and sang. It is very much a part of the oral literary tradition rather than the written. He was a teenager whose love story ends with sadness . As a Teenager , it teaches me to do not give yourself whole-heartedly to the person you love because betrayal and heartbreak encourages us to do inhumane acts such as suicide and other things . Also , open up to your parents because they are the best advisers :)
- MARC MENDOZA lol
DeleteThis masterpiece reveals the un-nerving truth about ourselves. We tend to be hooked to something that is quite "stupid" and silly, and that's a problem. Because, then, we become someone who we are not. We lie to ourselves that we are born to be this, when in fact we aren't We hide in the shadows of our egos and self-indulgence, when the truth is clear as crystal. We live a life that is full of lies created by our imagination. And, frankly, we can't escape that life. We chose to be someone who we are not. And, I don't know if you agree with me, but that's just the truth. Sometimes, lies become the truth.
ReplyDeleteWell, as for one, I am a Don Quixote. But, we are all Don Quixotes. We stand to live a life full of expectations. Expectations that can only be accomplished is such a way that is almost impossible. But, we still muster our courage and what's left of our pride to accomplish this expectations. I consider us Don Quixotes for one simple reason, expectations. A dilemma that is forever present.
Lord Randall, the handsomest of all. The brave the bold. And frankly, stupid. We, teenagers, tend to be stupid. Stupid in terms of almost every thing under the sun. Specially, a little thing called, "Love". We simply march in, charge in, without even thinking. We love as much as we can, but hurt the same. We try so hard, the end is still the same. This is a piece about how love can literally kill/hurt you. So, to every teenager out there, think about the crazy little thing. Don't charge in like a mad man. As the song goes: "Wise men say, only fools rush in."
With that, I rest my case. Good night, and God bless!
Don Quixote de La Mancha tells the story of an old insane man and his adventures. He became insane because of being obsessed with those chivalric ideas, so he thinks that everything in the world connects to chivalry. Don Quixote's imagination has been broad to the point of delusion. He wants something to convey but everyone don't understand him. If we look on Don Quixote, we will think that he's crazy reasonably because of what he has been doing to his life, but what if we look deeper on him. Don Quixote really wants to right all the wrongs and bring back peace and justice to world. What now? Yes he's crazy, but he has a positive thought about the world, that the world could be a like those on what he read on his chivalric ideas, that the world really needs, peace and justice.
ReplyDeleteOf course, there are some people in our society that I can compare to Don Quixote. They are the ones who wants to be cool in their own different way regardless of what other people thinks about them. For them, they do not consider other people's thought about the. because they know that there is not something wrong on what they are doing, thus, that makes them happy.
The ballad Lord Randall is a song about the betrayal of whom you loved and trusted. As a teenager, this song cautions us that the one who makes you feel love now can hurt you the most at the same time somewhen. So once you loved and trusted someone, expect the possibility that they will hurt you as much as they loved you. One more thing that I conveyed to the song is that even the one you love leaves you, there is your mother who will always be there for you no matter what happens.

ReplyDeleteThis literary piece reveals a lot of truths and realities about life. One has to keep their own sanity despite of the goals that they badly want to achieve. There is absolutely no problem with wanting to reach their goals or with wanting to go on their own adventure but one should be aware of keeping their sanity while on their own journey or rather, one should be aware of their boundaries and limitations in life.
ReplyDeleteI must say that Don Quixote dela Mancha really is a timeless piece and does have an element of universality. This is because, for me, I think that every person is a Don Quixote of their own. Every person has their own wild adventures that they wanted to fulfill. It just happens that not everyone is as obsessed as Don Quixote was with his adventure. But for those who are as willing as Don Quixote was to fulfill his adventure, I think that they were those people who wanted to change this world. They were those people who had their eyes already opened because of their painful and miserable experiences. Those people who experienced the most tragic experiences that made them lose their sanity because of too much pain. Those are the people that I consider the modern world’s Don Quixote.
The Ballad “Lord Randall” conveys us teenagers, the message about not trusting a person so easily. I think the ballad also wanted us to realize that even our loved ones can fool us. Lord Randall, in the ballad, trusted his true love too much and being fooled is what he gets back. As we grow we are taught that too much is not good, just as this ballad message for us. Loving and trusting isn’t a problem, but loving too much and trusting too much could be a problem.

ReplyDeleteDon Quixote dela mancha is or technically, he became thoroughly insane through his obsession of reading books and diving into chivalric ideas. He came up to decisions which later turned into actions, that were not quite human-ly (for a normal person to see). The epic literary piece tell us the power of reading books, their influence and ability to control our minds, and definitely change our beliefs through letters and words. These will awfully scratch our life for it will determine how or what do we stand for. Just like Don Quixote, he was able to believe in such things that it stayed in his mind and probably just replayed it again and again and nothing more else to think of (which is just plain, losing his sanity). For a normal person’s view, he’s a lunatic for thinking that a metal windmill is a giant, he’s a fool for thinking that those innocent sheeps were soldiers on a battle. An estimate of a hundred thousand words managed to change him and it scarred him for the rest of his life without him knowing about the latter.
ReplyDeleteAnother, the story reveals to us that we can all be lost in our dreamy palace, our favorite places, when we read books, we can dream of our hopes and wants in life because we are free to do so . We can daydream for as long as we can and dare to but always remember to walk back and have a reality check., to open your eyes once again and live your own pretty life. Pretty life because God has given it to you, it’s a miracle we owe him forever.
Don Quixotes in our world are people like some of our politicians, the corrupt ones. Why? They became lost of their love and “need” for money, they forget that the money is not theirs. They are insane because they are out of themselves. People like them who gave in to their obsessions and soon became lost are the Don Quixotes of our society today.
Lastly, the fancy story, Lord Randall (I fancy the song, it’s gotten into me :D), tells us that even though we know a person, we must not trust them too much still because they are still people and one way or another they could still fool us or even talk behind our backs without us knowing otherwise. I couldn’t actually comprehend until now that in just a smile poison, you see your son die in front of you and you learned that it was his sweetheart that did it to your son. It’s an opening for vengeance.

Don Quixote dela Mancha is a novel which interests readers about how good the story is. Even though the author Miguel de Cervantes wrote this quite dull and dense, we may see this as a candor quality to the fact that the author made his work with creativity. In this generation, we may see this literary piece still understandable because it is generally a modern novel which we can see the development of thoughts related to chivalry. In life, the truth is we are all acquiring freedom nowadays. We can do whatever we want but we should also know our limitations. Just like Don Quixote, he made adventures with his peasant Sancho and his horse Rocinante. This literary piece reveal to us that in spite of the friends that surrounds us, we will always come back to the reality which realizes where we belong. In the novel, Don Quixote’s fiend Sancho chose being a politician when he loses perspective of reality and Don Quixote returns to sanity.
ReplyDeleteFor me, we are the Don Quixotes in our society nowadays. Believe it or not, we have different perspective in life which only our self will understand. People around us may misinterpret what we do because it depends upon them what would they believe. We could only see the reality to our self because logically, other people see it as a blurred vision that only us can see.
The ballad song “Lord Randall” conveys to teenagers like me the message about betrayal and pain for the ones we love. Although Lord Randall loves the lady very much, the lady is treacherous for she poisoned Lord Randall when they ate together in dinner. I realized that not everyone is to be trusted, even we think that one person shows that they could be. In the song, his conversation to his mother was observed which I could see that he obviously trusts her on whatever may happen.

When you’re gloomy, your mind intends to think of another world where you can be happy. In relevance to the story Don Quixote, Alonzo Quixano or also known as Don Quixote was obsessed in medieval chivalric knights who save and help people in different ways. His obsession leads him to a world in his mind that no one could ever see nor hear. Obsession can lead to insanity. If one can’t control his/her mind or thoughts, he/she will become insane. It is not wrong to think of something you want dearly and enact it in reality, what makes it wrong is when you live with it and forget about the truth that lies in your life.
ReplyDeleteOur society is full of different people with different personalities and perspectives. Some may be like Sancho, or maybe Dulcinea, but who is the Don Quixote in our society? I know that at least one of us have a friend that is depressed, wrecked, broken or lost. We can reflect Don Quixote to that person. Don Quixote was lost in his thoughts. He created a fictional world where he could be heroic and mighty but didn’t succeed. Persons who are lost are fragile. If they aren’t guided, they might end up in a tragic way and worst, they can’t even experience how beautiful their realities could have been.
Trust is one of the most important things that anyone could have. Trust is a gift that should be cherished and taken care of. The ballad “Lord Randall” shows a great part about trust. Teenagers nowadays don’t value the thing called ‘trust’. Breaking ones trust is like giving them a reason to think that you aren’t worthy of anything they could give or offer to you. Another message is about love that is also connected to trust. We all know that teenagers have their own lives or as we can also state, love life. “We don’t love because of trust, we trust because of love”. When you love a person, you give your trust to them. And when you just love not knowing the real character of that person, you’ll just give that person a chance to stab a sword in your heart until it bleeds. Different philosophies are told about trust and love but this quote from William Shakespeare is one of my favorite. “Love all. Trust a few. Do wrong to none.”
Every person has its potential.
ReplyDeleteEach people has a potential to be someone else-- someone great. That's how Don Quixote acted in the story. He chose to be what he really is what and he wants to be. He chose the things that he think is right and do it as if "i don't care what people want to think or want to say". And because people who surrounded him thinks that he is crazy, because he is doing something new and different compare to others. This kind of situation also happened to us. When we did something that exceeds to people's point of view they make fun of it, as if there is an imaginary line between the things that we can do and don't even try to do it . The society declares everything that limits every individual. But Don Quixote taught us to stand, walk and keep going. Stand to the things that we think is right, Walk with confidence and show to them what is your own perception of life and your potential, and lastly Keep going no matter what happens.
A person who knows how to make it and live it. That's how i described Don Quixote's perception in life. He make something different and believed and live to it. Don Quixote's perception in life leads him into another world and make others think that he's crazy or different.
We, ourselves are like modern Don Quixote. We sometimes think of something that we know "it is the right thing?", "this is what we need to do", "we should stop that". But we are full of doubts and afraid to make a first step. We are afraid to be judge and stand corrected. Afraid to be laughed, insulted, and to go out in our comfort zone.
How can i say that we are just like Don Quixote yet i fully described it oppositely? Simple, knowing that we are in the wrong side of the tracks , persuaded us to be something different. Every individual make something, believed and live that it is right. Since everyone have different perspective, others make fun of it and thought that it was wrong. To think that we all have different situation.
There are people whom we love a lot and give everything for them, we sacrifice, we offer and be stupid. When we start caring for them, we forget those people who loves us the most , who care, who sacrifice and who understand. In Lord Randall, I learned what true love is. Love doesn't limit in a girl and boy relationship but true love can see on those people who are willing to give their fully trust to the person they care most. Simple analysis, but most people forget. Maybe that's how love works, we simply offer our hearts on someone without an assurance, because we trust them and it doesn't matter what's going to be on the future. To love is a great and awesome feeling but to be loved is indescribable. We shouldn't forget those people who cares for us no matter what happened because in the end those people will stay when others leave you.
1. The literary piece itself has been a message to all its readers through out the centuries that had passed. If you go through a deep understanding about the story of Don Quixote it shows bits of what society is as for now or at that time when it was written. In any way it shows that there is still hope for people that believes and wishes for the world to be righteous and fair. Even if you seem foolish enough to just go through that war from the ever changing world that is of today, still doing the right things are always the right way. That even though there is a lot of not-so-favorable events in this century, somehow some people will cope up to take the step and be the start of change.
ReplyDelete2. There are a lot of people that would be willing to be a Don Quixote, minus the fact that they would lose their sanity, even so they just go unnoticed trying to make the changes. Some politicians maybe considered a Don Quixote but on a really small scale of 3 out of 10. Most politicians get consumed of greed, power and money that the world can bestow upon them. Though if I was going to really name one I'd consider the current pope as of now.
3. Simply tying the red string of fate to the wrong person not only kills you but hurts in you all sorts of pain, specially in the heart. If you sprinkle your trust in almost everything you'll probably choke. By that I mean don't give your trust onto people easily. Everybody have their own monsters inside and trust can always lead to betrayal.

ReplyDeleteDon Quixote reveals that in our world, we can revive something that we believe in. We can keep our strong faith and use it in our own good way. Unfortunately, some people's belief became their obsessions and instead of doing something good because of it - they tend to do the opposite of it.
Sometimes what started as a good interest becomes a bad obsession. We should be careful in the things that we do. Let's always think about the welfare of others before we do something drastic.
We are not always right, but we can do something about it. We can turn wrong into right as long as we mean to change.0
2.
In this modern time, I can say that Don Quixotes still exist. Don Quixotes are those who have strong beliefs and they would be willing to do anything to fight for the glory of it's honor; even if the idea of their beliefs is not that good in the eyes of others.
I consider them the modern world's Don Quixote because they share common characteristics and some ideas about how they would honor the things they believe in.
3.
In my own opinion, Lord Randall tells teenagers that they should not easily trust others. Love built on a weak foundation will someday crumble and fall. As teenagers, they should focus on what will help them grow as a person; love should not be their priority at their age.
The story of Don Quixote dela Mancha is a legendary masterpiece that is passed down to generations because of it's themes on class and defending one's honor. Nowadays, people get judged because of their dreams or making there imagination go wild for time to time. I can admit that I'm a judge towards others to because we can't please anyone who doesn't reach up to our expectations but that is just the truth of life.
ReplyDeleteWe always tend to feel something like a superhero who is capable to do anything but we always go back to the reality that we are just some normal guy who just lives life trying to find his purpose. Nonetheless we are still trying to be someone we are not for the sake of one's happiness, thinking that we are more than we are, that we can change the world in just dreaming and expecting something great.
I can say that every single one of us is a Don Quixote for some point in time, that no single one in the world has not become a Don Quixote. Don Quixotes are humans that dream big and have high expectations in life, people who still has the guts to dream big even though everyone say that it's impossible, people who always stands for what is right and that they are not afraid even though death may come for them.
The ballad Lord Randall simply indicates about trust. Trust is hard to build and easy to destroy. Nowadays teenagers take their friends trust for granted, it's like they are using them for their self sake. We must trust only a few because that is where we can feel free to know that no one in your friends is backstabbing you. "We're never so vulnerable than when we trust someone - but paradoxically, if we cannot trust, neither can we find love or joy."
-Lourde Phillip Rebellon
Good Evening Ma'am Ramos :)
ReplyDeleteThe truths and realities of life that reveals in this literary piece was first is Everyone of us was once a dreamer. We people dream of something that we want to achieve and we will do everything just
to make that dream come true. Second is, Obsession, Don Quixote was obsessed with chivalry books and because of this it results a bad effect, like in our generation people experience obsessions is some things.
For me, I think that all of us is like Don Quixote Because we all have Different perspectives in life. We all have different opinions and comments about everything that you, yourself can understand. Maybe some people may misundertood you because they have different perspective but you would rather believe in yourself and fight for what you believe.
The message that the ballad wants to convey is having trust on someone. In the quote" Be careful who you trust, the devil was once an angel." Dont trust anyone easily even if we know the person because maybe some of them may fool us or broke us. Trust is a thing that we have to cherished and dont you ever break this. Teenager's nowadays dont really care the true meaning of trust. They are easily giving up their trust on someone that they believe they really know them.
ReplyDeleteDon Quixote de La Mancha, I must say, is indeed a work of art. A masterpiece that each one of us should read because of its own uniqueness and value. This story will surely slap your face with reality, where in you will probably think of your goals in life and encourage you to achieve it. Don Quixote was once a sane man whose obsession with chivalry has gone bad and lost his sanity because of it. The truth is, this man has good intentions even if he already lost his mind. He wanted to fight for the right things and stop the wrong doings but in the process of it, he became delusional to the point that he thought he can do anything even the impossible ones. We all can live our life the way we want it to be, we can dream and we always have the chance to achieve it. However, the reality is always there to remind us what life really is, how bad it can get and how it destroys the imaginations that we have. It is always there to tell you that not all your dreams are possible, but hey, as long as you have good intentions and positivity you can always dream.
Who wouldn't have something they badly want to achieve? Something you would die for just to have it? Don Quixote in the modern world is none other than all of us, we all have dreams and goals in life that we want to achieve but the difference is that not all of us has come to a point where we'd lose our mind over it. Even the impossible things are nothing to us as long as we have faith in ourselves that we can do it no matter what other people say.
Love. Trust. Loyalty
These words come together as one and the ballad Lord Randall shows us that when we love, trust is a very important thing to bind you together as well as the loyalty that you have for each other. Unfortunately, Lord Randall trusted his lover so much but at the end of the day he got poisoned by his own lover. Where did the loyalty go? Where did the love go? Was there a trust? The betrayal of his lover shows us that there comes a point in our life that loving doesn't always give you happiness but also gives you lessons that you could use.
Don Quixote dela Mancha is indeed timeless for it's a story wherein many people, until now, can learn some valuable life lessons. The story tells about Don Quixote who is trapped in his fantasies and had many adventures and mishaps along his way. This story, therefore, tells us that how good our fantasies and ideals may be, we shouldn't indulge in them; this will bring us to confuse reality from our own fantasies. Instead of fantasizing about things that's impossible to happen, we should focus instead on the things laid out before us that can help us achieve a fruitful life. Afterall, fantasies are called fantasies for a reason.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I believe that most, if not all, are Don Quixotes. It's because each of us have our own unrealistic ideas that we wish to fulfill. However, unlike Don Quixote, people in this society have an easier time grasping reality because there are things that helps them accept the truth:that their unrealistic ideals will remain unrealistic; not unless a miracle happens and it comes true.
"Lord Randall" tells us that when we begin to love somebody, we shouldn't give our wholeselves to that person; you should have something left for yourself. Also, it teaches us to choose who to trust wisely. If we don't choose wisely, we might end up in misery.
NOREEN MALAPO:
From all of the literatures that I have ever read, the Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha was my favorite. Don Quixote is the craziest person I have read about. However, I could still trace moral lessons and reflect reality upon it.
ReplyDeleteDon Quixote is a guy who was victimized by his own obsession. Although he lost his sanity, his actions taught me this: you can be whoever you want to be! The people who curse you and belittle your goals should only be considered as part of achieving your dreams! It is such a nice idea to believe in ourselves; thinking that we are capable of becoming anyone our minds could ever imagine. Nevertheless, we should still keep track of reality no matter how determined we are. This world is a cruel one after all. Getting ahead of ourselves is a bad idea because it will definitely backfire on us, potentially dragging us back to the starting line; making us begin all over again. If you gain too much faith on yourself, society will definitely do something about it. We live in a world where our dreams are limited. You may become someone you want but it will only be for a moment, but you will be repositioned by everyone in the next.
In this society, those who believe in themselves too much are recognized as the modern Don Quixotes. But for me, the new world’s Don Quixotes are those who still live in the old era: Men who think that they are superior to women, politicians thinking that we still can’t do anything about them stealing the country’s money, criminals thinking that our cops will never catch them, people who still believe in superstitions, or those who are still ignorant about the real important global news. My idea might be too negative but that is how I see them. And I find humor in their actions like how I find humor in Don Quixote’s story.
Lord Randall tells us a story of a young man thinking that there are no such rules that apply to him therefore his ignorance lead him to his death. Teenagers are young and wild. While elders try to give them advice because they have been to the same situation, teenagers will only play deaf and still do whatever they want. Thus leading them to the consequences they deserved. No wonder this world is still experiencing chaos. Teenagers keep on repeating the mistakes their elders have warned them about.
Don Quixote dela Mancha is definitely a story full of uniqueness and timeless creativity. He was obsess when it comes to chivalry that he became insane because of trying to make things he read about chivalry happens in real life.
ReplyDeleteSame with the truths about life in this generation, It reveals we loved to dream about fantasies and we cannot stop it because it makes us happy, but we must knew our limitations especially when things got real and problems in real life appears in front of us. Sometimes it comes to point that once we're attatched with that " fantasy lives" we dream about, we often mixed it up with reality and things get worse because we can't figure out anymore what we must do to make it stop, so even it is worse we still continue it, even though other people thinks we are out of our mind and we dont know how to make decisions.
Absolutely yes, there are Don Quixotes in our society, these are the people who are so obssesed and attatched to some things like, fiction readers, gamers, players, and children. I consider myself as well, because we are the people who love things once it becames important or special to us until it comes to the point we are "obssesed" with it, and we sometimes think that "we are them" and "we want to do what they do". Other people may see it as bad because we look insane or what but all i can say is people like them only want to express their imagination in a more powerful way and creative way and there is nothing wrong with that as long as they dont hurt other people.
"Lord Randall" tells us that we must be careful in choosing the person we give our trust because trust is not like a glass that once broken can be glued back, trust is one of the most special gift you can give to someone, yet not everyone is capable of getting it, some may lure you at first then when they got your full trust they will destroy it ,without you knowing you are already stabbed by the person once you treated as your sister/ brother.
Don Quixote de La Mancha is a novel that is passed from every generations because of its well known themes and contents that makes people believe that one time he or she will be honored and remembered because of the ideas that they made to the society. This story reveals that each person is different and you can't change that unless you want tob be more someone else. These things happens in real life because everyone wants to prove things that people can't do and all of us are very conscious about the things we have watched on TV. It also reveals that if you do something that only suits you but disagreed by other people makes your life ruined because you are being judged by people quickly from your pointless ideas that they didn't like. Making you feel very depressed. Just remember these things: Don't lose hope because maybe these things helps you fulfill your dreams or goals. Don't let your dreams be dreams. Just do it! Keep going if you fail! Try and try until you succeed! You deserve to be better than anyone else
ReplyDeleteWe are all Don Quixote. Don Quixote appears in our heneration. We are many. We can't be just an ordinary person but way more better. These people whose lives is in a world of adventures and full of imaginations. I am one of the Don Quixotes because I have a very wide imafination. Some things that I've watched on TV is applied in real life thinking that something good will happen if we attempt to do it and it makes our life happy. Besides we are not perfect, sometimes we do something crazy or anything else.
Lord Randall is a form of ballad in which Lord Randall was poisoned by his love because he was betrayed by her love and he can't accept it. It is hard to say that these situations happened in real life but this is actually the truth. As a teenager, if you think that your relationship is a bad timing then you have to finish this, get over it and stop thinking about her because it will be a lesson in life and you will be relief from it. Well, not all teenagers do that thing because teens nowadays are very obsessed to their love ones so they're doing everything just to make sure that their love will last forever. But nothing last forever, everything has an end, every relationship ends depending on what situations they have. So we have to learn from it. Do not give everything you have if you are unsure of what you are doing. So that's it, thank you very much and have a great day!
Don Quixote dela Mancha – being the first and greatest of modern novels of all time – illustrates of a man named Alonso Quijano who is obsessed with chivalrous ideals that caused his brain to dry in which he completely went out of his mind to believe these fictional books of chivalry to be true. Because of that, he renames himself as “Don Quixote” and begins to set out in search of an adventure along with his simple peasant squire, Sancho Panza. As they continue to travel further, the world has suddenly been changed by Don Quixote's wild dream. In fact, everyone is starting to change – from ordinary people to pirate prisoners, scorned lovers and soldiers – that the actual world is what Don Quixote imagined it to be like wherein he reads reality the way he does because he is who he has become. In other words, his imaginary world becomes more of a reality wherein he needs to make the romances of chivalry true. After all, he is a psychotic in which he has chosen to react in certain ways and not others to the pressures life has subjected him to. This also comes to define his personality and to know more about his character. Thus, Don Quixote is not an imaginary person; he is as real as Alexander the Great.
ReplyDeleteThis literary piece has revealed to us that life is full of mystery; curiosity begets curiosity to comprehend the world as a question. Some people(including myself) have not yet known the outside world, specifically, knowing modern facts on the current world like watching the international or global news, being active for seeing the latest feeds on social media, or getting involved with the newest issue. Other people keep wandering about the status of the modern world whether or not it will make a huge outcome for the upcoming future. Similar to Don Quixote dela Mancha, curiosity has lead them into a whole new world, into a whole new perspective. The reality about life from the modern novel is that the world has changed rapidly;for example, Philippines is not the same as before in which our country continues to expand and evolve further. The truth about life, on the other hand, is telling us that reaching the impossible dream requires optimism – the one and only redeeming quality for it helps us to overcome triumphs over disillusions.
Yes, our society or the world has several Don Quixotes. Examples are those who makes the impossible possible such as the “real” magicians(perhaps a so-called mindfreak), those who makes a somewhat revolution like a certain government, and those whose curiosity is still a mystery which varies from science-based theory – preferably the Space-Time Continuum. These are the modern world of Don Quixotes because they both have the craziness inside them;they're insane or psychopathic wherein they lose their sanity like a mad scientist discovering something new.
The timeless messages from the ballad “Lord Randall” is trying to convey to teenagers that every mother has been gifted with pure heart wherein a mother is always worried about her child;wherever her son goes, she'll make him comfortable when he reaches home. A mother will always make meal for her child, thinking about what food her son would like to eat. A mother would always find a topic to have a chat with her child, wanting to know if he's healthy or not. Unfortunately, after she have heard he was poisoned, the mother cried because knowing her son sick has made her heart sink. In this case, the mother is overwhelmed on what the wife of her son did to him;she had to protect him no matter what but it was too late. After all, mothers are very protective to their son for they're the greatest buddy a son could ever have. This also conveys to teenagers that trust cannot be earned by simply loving the man or woman you fully desire. Though it may seem ideal to everyone, spending time together will likely develop an attachment between two romantic partners. Thus, bonding is the key to obtain the absolute trust not only through emotions but with solid affections.

1.)The story Don Quixote dela Mancha reveals us how Idealism can negatively affect a person’s life. Believing in such mythical, phantasmal concepts and ideas. The story also reveals that every person wants adventures in their lives. It may be ridiculous to others, but what important is we have our own quests and we don’t step on others’ dignity.
ReplyDelete2.)Don Quixote is a fictional middle-aged man made 400 years ago yet, we still have “The Don Quixotes” in our society. I can consider avid gamers as today’s “don Quixotes”. Since they are really exposed to fictitious ideas and characters, they have a high tendency to be more idealistic and quixotic.
3.)The ballad “Lord Randall” tells us that we should be sharing our problems to our parents because they are the only ones who can give the best advice and also the ones who can be trusted in times like this.
It also tells us that love can be given away easily but trust isn’t. We should know first the people we encounter before trusting them anything.

1. Don Quixote dela Mancha is said to be the most influential works of literature and the best literary work ever written. This book was meant to move people into an emotion of both tragedy and comedy. It features the same characters and settings with little exploration of the inner life, usually focused on the psychological evolution of the characters.
ReplyDelete2. I believe that there are some people in our generation who’s same as Don Quixote. Being judged negatively is somehow next to our shadow. I can say that we can be likened to Don Quixote as being forced to believe on something that we don’t and then being judged with a purpose. It is written in the Bible, “Judge not that ye be not Judged.” But since we are just human and can commit sin unintentionally, we hold on to this which is also written in the Bible, “as it is written, there is none righteous no not one.”
3. Lord Randall tells us about that love and trust needs each other. In the ballad, Lord Randall was being killed by too much trust he gave to a person he just met. In our life, trust means everything, and love needs trust. It tells us to be careful whom to trust because once this trust is broken, it will be hard to fix the mess and cure the pain it caused. Also, about love, we need to be careful in choosing our partners. It doesn’t need to be rushed, it takes right time for us to meet the right person. It needs prayer, not flirt.
1.) The story focuses on the themes of adventure, imaginative, mythical or fantasy. This story also reveals to our lives that these mythical or imaginative stuff can lead us or take us to a ride we dont want. Believing too much to a mythical or imaginative things can make your mind lose its capability to control. But, some people can control this feeling which is good. Instead, they do something else to express their thoughts and perspectives.
ReplyDelete2.) Yes. In this generation, we havr Don Quixotes. These peiple are actually the ones who are addicted to a certain thing or topic. For example, I myself got addicted to ghe movie Kung Fu Panda. After watching, I rushed outside and do some karate moves. I also broke some wood which drives my mom into anger. Some people do stuff to express their thoughts about a topic that they got addicted to.
3.) For me, I think it is all about trust and love to your parents. Why? Because he trust his true love so much that he couldnt believe his true love can poisoined or kill him. Too much trust can also lead you into disaster. Also lobe to your parents because every people in this world should love and respect their parents no matter what happen. For me, these are the main key of the ballad
-John David Golenia
The story of Don Quixote dela Mancha tells us about the possible outcome of being obsessed on something. Although it shows us how imaginative and idealistic a person can be. The story reveals about that believing in such mythical creation that can't really happen in real life or being obsessed on something can lead to insanity.
ReplyDeleteI can compare Don Quixote to a bookworm. Some bookworm really believe that some mythical creatures really exist even though it's not. Although reading is a good habit, we must not take it seriously because it do not happen in real life.
The ballad "Lord Randall" tell us to trust our parents. We should say our problems to them because they can help us. No parent in the world want to suffer their children. So we must value our family because they are the first person that can help you in your darkest times.
1) "Don Quixote dela Mancha" reveals to us that the world described in books and the real world are COMPLETELY different.
ReplyDeleteThere are some things on the book that are not possible and you may not impart them in real life. Why? Because you are living in the REAL world and this is reality. There won't be always a happy ending. It is not always full of smiles and laughter. Living in these beliefs, that are found on books, are totally nonsense. It may result to bad or miserable events, like losing someone very special to you all because of your faith that the world your currently standing and the world that you are reading are the same.
2) I consider Don Quixotes of these world are persons who are obsessing over something that it begins to go overboard. Well, let's take 'fans or obsessive fans' as an example. These persons are willing to hurt every person that badmouths their idols. They hurt other person's feelings. Yes, maybe, they are doing that to defend their idols but don't they think that their idol also take part on that situation? I won't say that having idols, that inspires and motivates you, are such bad influences. I just want to say that as long as you don't step on others it would be alright to 'fangirl' over those idols. Just keep in mind that always put God first :)
3) Lord Randall is 'poisoned' by his lover and say to his mother to prepare his bed, which is assumed to be a coffin. It means that Lord Randall attempted to end his life because he was being hurt by his love. Well, I find it so immature. Why? Because why would you end your life just because of the pain that you are experiencing right now? You are so blessed that you are alive, no diseases or whatsoever. Some of the teenagers are like that, attempting to cut themselves, attempting to do suicide. Be thankful that God has given you another day to live in this world. Do they know how many people in this world are dying and wishing to live as long as they could? The pain would be gone, just endure it for now. There are special persons that are willing to help you in midst of hard trials, like your family. Don't let this pain eat you up. Be grateful and remember that God is always by your side.
It shows that too much imaginations can lead into something bad or worse. It also shows how great an imagination of a person is and of course, that there are people who loves adventures and fantasies. Of course, only people with a problem on their brain would do the same as Don Quixote. But if not, they would just write a story or do something to express their imaginations.
ReplyDeleteYes, there are many Don Quixote on our society. For example, the book lovers, the students, children, gamers and me. I love reading and watching adventure and fantasy genre anime, movies or stuffs. I kinda imagine that I was the main character doing the supernatural things. I express my imagination and my ideas through writing stories inspired by what I've watched or read. They have a more wider imagination and ideas.
The message it conveys to us teenagers is that we should open up to our parents. We should share our problems to them for them to lend a hand to us. I mean, they are the ones who made us what we are now. So, they can understand us and of course, they would do anything to help us in our problem.
1. Everybody has a dream they want to achieve. Some, more unrealistic than that of the others. In the story, Don Quixote was an avid fan of reading stories about knights and detailed stories about chivalry, princesses, magicians, enchanted castles to the point that he was so keen about indulging in these things that he tried to emulate and carelessly recreate the stories he read about. However, that did not stop him to believe that he has finally found himself through doing these things. To simplify, I attained 3 truths or realities from this story. First, the people around you can and will judge you for the things that you truly enjoy. Secondly, contrary to popular belief, ignorance is not bliss. It will lead you to a path of misery and unfulfillment. Last but not the least, the story perfectly exemplifies the fact that no matter how nice you are, a flaw or two could ruin it all. Doesn't matter if you're virtuous or prudent or nice. To the eyes of shallow people, your mistake defines who you are.
ReplyDelete2. Don Quixote was used as a character in the story but I believe the author wanted him to stand as a metaphoric figure of some kind. In this story, it's sensible enough to say that this metaphoric figure meant unattainable passion with an unrealistic perception of reality. By saying so, I believe that every single one of us has a Don Quixote deep inside of them. Every single one of us has an unattainable passion with an unrealistic perception of reality.
3. 3. The Ballad of Lord Randall conveys a lot of meaningful messages to us adolescents, and I think it’s more than just literally interpreting the ballad itself. No matter how much you care for them, they will still do something devious like betraying you or stabbing you from behind. Another thing I've learned from it is that your terrible decisions will not only affect you but ultimately, also those who are around you. In this story, the family was deeply affected and will be eternally scarred from a beloved family member's death. In the end, all I can say is to be wise. Make rational decisions with your life. Do not be reckless and do what is good. Trust those only who are worthy of your trust and know that you are not the only person in the world. Most importantly, obey your parents.
