When I reached the sink, I opened the faucet to get some water. I was shocked. The water was pitch black and it reeked. I had to turn away to stop myself from throwing up. I managed to turn the faucet off when I heard the door burst open.
"Why are you still here!?" the lady asked.
I examined her face which took me seconds to realize she resembled my mother's face.
"I told you to go to your doctor!"
She paced back and forth the room. What was wrong with me? She turned to me and told me things that put chaos in my mind.
"Why?" I timidly asked her. She was furious like I did something wrong.
Confusion was written all over her face, "Can't you see?! Your life's a mess! You're a mess!" She shouted at my face.
"You're insane! You stayed in your room five days straight looking at empty space!"
She backed away. She looked at me intently. I could see all the pain, pity, and hatred in her eyes. She started screaming and crying. All I could do was stand there. And slowly my vision got blurry, my body was weakening.
"What are you saying?! I'm sane!" I yelled back.
I couldn't fathom why she told me such things. She grabbed my shoulders and shook me roughly. Tears started welling up in her eyes.
"I don't know you anymore" she said.
"Hey?" I felt a soft tap on my head. This voice was quite unfamiliar and gentle.
"Are you okay?" I opened my eyes to see one of those white creatures again but this one was different. She had long brown hair and warm blue eyes that felt like you could see the sky at a very close distance. She reminded me of freedom. I couldn't see the rest of her face because her face is covered.
"Yes. I am fine." I answered her avoiding to look at her eyes. Somehow it felt like it was piercing through my soul.
"Why were you sleeping on the floor?" She asked me. I saw her fishing out something from her pocket.
"Don't worry. You'll soon find peace." She hugged me. I don't know why but I felt she was bidding a goodbye.
"Is that what it's called? I know this is just another wall." I replied.
She waited for what I had to say but I remembered something again.
"I remember what my mother used to say..." I looked at her with a sad smile.
"You may lay down on your bed now." I followed her instructions. I watched her she headed for that wall with a see window. All that echoed inside the room was the sound of her shoes clicking.
"Oh wait, I don't have a mother." I saw her pity in her eyes.
That was the last thing I heard before falling into deep slumber.
"I hope so too." I smiled at her and took the pill. She handed me a glass of water so I could drink it.
